Life Art

Choose your colour, take a brush
Remember, it’s not a race, so don’t you rush
Reach deep in your heart and try to feel
Take all your emotions and make them real

Stand in front of your whitewashed wall
And brush in hand, it’s your call
Paint something meaningful, paint something sweet
If your imagination wishes, just paint some feet

It doesn’t really need to look like anything
Your feelings could be infinite like a ring
You may even find that your work’s incomplete
So remember to stop and take a moment to eat

If finally, you feel you’ve finished your art
You should take a step back and listen to your heart
You wont have captured what’s inside
There’ll still be memories that are trying to hide

Your painting will change throughout the years
Through love, loss, excitement, laughter and tears
And when eventually your life is through
Your wall will remain; a picture of you
